Bradley Walsh has been at the forefront of British comedy for the last 40 years and during that time he's met and been inspired by our greatest comedy legends. In this series, Bradley celebrates his comedy heroes and heroines to try and find out just what makes them so great.
Bradley sets out his all-time comedy legends - from sitcoms to stand ups to double acts- and puts forward his own theory as to why they are the best of all time. Throughout the series Bradley interviews friends such as Alexander Armstrong, Omid Djalili, Jo Brand, Stephen K Amos, Su Pollard, Alison Steadman, Les Dennis and others to unravel the genius of the comedy greats - from Tommy Cooper, Lee Mack and Victoria Wood to Bob Monkhouse, Little & Large and The Two Ronnies. He also revisits classic moments from Hi-De-Hi! and Dad's Army to Blackadder and Absolutely Fabulous. This is Bradley Walsh's insider take on his comedy legends.
Starting with his own sitcom experience, and how hard an artform it is to master, Bradley and a cast of top sitcom stars seek out the secrets of success for the British classics including Steptoe And Son, The Liver Birds, Hi-De-Hi!, The Young Ones, Gavin & Stacey, 'Allo 'Allo!, Dad's Army and Absolutely Fabulous. He asks what makes a sitcom successful? And why do some shows keep us laughing for years?
Bradley also reveals the classic moments that changed comedy forever and sees how the key to a successful sitcom is when it captures the mood of a nation. This is Bradley's nostalgic homage to some of Britain's most-loved sitcoms, full of great comedy clips and insight from those who starred in them.
