Radio X DJ and standup John Robins hosts this new gameshow, in which the questions are drawn from internet search engines. Judging by this opening double bill, it's part Only Connect and part Family Fortunes, albeit with a heavy dose of millennial irony courtesy of Robins' deliberately stilted Tim & Eric-style delivery. Good fun.

A confession: I have spent much of the last year unsure what the hell was going on. So, if you're wondering exactly how Vice Studios made a quiz show - it is not necessarily they type of content we are most known for - well, I'm not exactly sure I know either. And I was there for all of it.
Dan Louw, Broadcast, 15th November 2018Beat The Internet With John Robins review
Dave's new gameshow Beat The Internet With John Robins is a very cheap production, which tries to make a virtue of its parsimony by wrapping it in a postmodern irony. It only partially succeeds.
Steve Bennett, Chortle, 15th November 2018Vice's studio arm is the extremely unlikely producer of this Dave gameshow, hosted by stand-up and former Mr Sara Pascoe, John Robins. It's an offbeat affair on a pleasingly shonky set, with Robins quizzing contestants on subjects drawn from algorithms and search engines. Assisting him in the Richard Osman role of fact-master is the decidedly deadpan Sunil Patel.
