As Michelle prepares to send the airmen back to England whilst disguised as Monks, René is attempting to get out of receiving a collaboration medal from the General - an honour for which the Resistance, communists AND townspeople would have him executed!

The Germans' plan to give René a medal for collaboration and the communists plan to shoot him as a traitor. Michelle's plans for smuggling the airmen in the disguise of monks reaches its climax.
