Faced with the prospect of her marrying Monsieur Alfonse, René finally proposes and arranges his re-marriage to Edith. At the chateau, General Von Klinkerhoffen is on the search for missing gold; Herr Flick is convinced that René knows its whereabouts.

René hides the missing paintings in packets of spaghetti. Edith tells René that she is marrying Mssr. Alfonse. Meanwhile, mine detector in hand, Von Klinkerhoffen scans the Colonel's office. He finds no gold, but he does find the Colonel's toupée.
