Series 1, Episode 5 - The Funeral
René is - supposedly - dead, and so is forced to masquerade as his own twin brother (René 2); he's also forced to spend thousands of francs on a funeral with an empty coffin. Or at least, it would have been empty if it weren't for the anti-tank mines hidden inside...

After René's supposed execution, Herr Flick insists that his funeral be attended by senior officers to seek out the members of the Resistance. René has come back as his own twin brother, also named René, who now must plan for his own burial.
