In Victorian times the family was a unique institution. The man was in charge, women knew their place and children were seen and not heard. Or that is what we were led to believe...
Set in the late 19th-century, this sitcom follows Albert Hackett, a man with nine children and a wife to support, spouting his middle-class views to anyone who would listen.
The second series was blighted by illness to the leading actress who collapsed during rehearsals and was replaced for the remainder of the series.
