After Henry trivia

The second TV series was broadcast at the same time as the fourth radio series. In fact, in many cases both radio and television episodes were being broadcast on the same nights.

At its height After Henry was attracting over 14 million viewers to ITV.

Joan Sanderson, who played Eleanor in the series, died on the 24th May 1992. This was after the fourth series has been recorded, but two months before it was broadcast. Sanderson's death effectively brought the show to an end - had she not died, After Henry is likely to have gone on to a fifth series in 1993.
