Series 1, Episode 4 - Breaking Up Is Hard To Do

Charles wants to break up with his girlfriend, but can't bring himself to finish the relationship face to face - so instead he enlists Bex to do it for him. Meanwhile, Jan tries to get a pay rise by currying favour with Chris, but when her grovelling proves fruitless she resolves to get the money from her boss by fair means or foul.

Further details

Bex's new kindness and honesty policy is put to the test when Charles asks her to break up with his girlfriend Fiona on his behalf.

He claims he's tried everything but it turns out he has been opting for the silent treatment in the hope she'll get the hint.

Bex is outraged and is sure that some plain talking will do the trick.

However, Fiona is not what Bex bargained for and things take a turn for the worse.

Meanwhile, in the office, Jan tries sucking up to Chris to get a pay rise but is annoyed by her suggestion to eat less and sell her hair.

A battle of wills follows with Jan using petty tactics to try to get her way.
