Britain's wildest and best-loved comedian Freddie Starr celebrates 40 madcap years of showbiz in this pacey hour of music and comedy. As well as having the audience rolling in the aisles, madcap Freddie had them running up the aisles after hurling a box full of 'maggots' at the studio audience, causing a near riot. Some covered themselves with coats - others were not so fortunate!
Tune in to 40 Years Of Freddie Starr and see the versatile performer of stage and screen delight the audience with his own riotous version of Riverdance. John Sachs joins Freddie on his journey, looking back over his illustrious showbusiness career. Highlights include the comic's legendary impressions of Mick Jagger, Max Wall and Elvis with Russ Abbott as the most unlikely backing musician; Peter Stringfellow getting more than he bargained for when he nearly loses his trademark head of hair; and Dale Winton in stitches - almost literally - during a daring stunt!
Freddie takes a series of hilarious calls from Mike Tyson, Dale Winton, Billy Connolly, Jack Nicholson and Trevor McDonald, all from impressionist Jon Culshaw.
