Sitcom Mission

Cold Front

By: Daniel Austin

Sitcom Mission 2012 finalist

Cold Front follows Scott Tracy, a well-meaning but socially-defective weather man who, after suffering a number of personal and professional setbacks, is offered the chance to start his life anew in that most unlikely of places, Antarctica.

Along with a skeleton crew of similarly ill-equipped misfits, Scott must see out a six month contract at one of the world's most remote research outposts - McGuigan Station. Along the way, he'll form new friendships, ignite rivalries, get cabin fever, be accosted by Antarctic wildlife (and Norwegians), struggle with dial-up internet, start a revolution, find love and lose a toe.

Daniel Austin

Maker of films, eater of biscuits and occasional feeder of the cat. I like to talk about myself in the third person, because that's just the kind of guy he is. Writer and director of the no-budget feature film, Cricket, and BBC award-winning comedy short, Guy's Guide To Zombies - screened at over 75 international film festivals, including the LA Shorts Fest, Raindance and Comic-Con. Likes to end sentences with "..." because it adds mystery.

Cold Front is the first sitcom he has written. It is also his best...
