Bea Ware
By: Lorna Woolfson
Sitcom Mission 2016 finalist
Beatrice Ware is a woman obsessed. Her husband has left her and has gone to Japan with his new girlfriend, Helen Fitterman. Bea will stop at nothing to get him back. She has followed him to Japan and, to fund herself, has started teaching English as a Foreign Language. Such is her obsession that she does not notice the extraordinary country that is Japan, nor the warmth, humour and loyalty of her three students, Hiroko, Maumi, and Jon. To make matters worse, Bea's overbearing mother, Bridget and phobic friend, Sylv, have come to 'help'.

Lorna Woolfson
Lorna Woolfson has always loved comedy. She spent much of her youth re-enacting sketches from Victoria Wood (As Seen On TV) and Absolutely. It was shows like these that inspired Lorna to work in TV and film where she was a freelance Assistant Director for over 13 years. Having passed the 40 milestone, and with a young family of her own, Lorna has taken to writing comedy. Her first sitcom was long-listed in BBC Writers Room 2015 and her second was shortlisted in this year's Funny Women Writing Competition.
