How To Annoy A Script Reader - Part 11

11: Exposition.

Don't tell me who your characters are and why the show is funny - show me!

This can be through their actions, their reaction to a situation, their style and tone; it might even be their costume choices.

If you want to show the differences between the characters, give them a conflict and highlight their different takes on it. Or take them on an emotional journey to show how close they are.

Plus, showing is always funnier and 'going for the funny' is always paramount.
