Kathy Burke to publish A Mind Of My Own memoir

- Kathy Burke's autobiography, titled A Mind Of My Own, will be published in October
- The Gimme Gimme Gimme actor joked: "I thought I'd best get to it while my own human intelligence is still intact"
Kathy Burke has written her autobiography.
A Mind Of My Own, set to be published in October, will see the star of Harry Enfield & Chums and Gimme Gimme Gimme talking about her upbringing and acting career.
The book's blurb says: "Even when she was a kid in Islington, Kathy Burke did things her own way. After gaining a place at the Anna Scher Theatre when she was a teenager changed the course of her life, she became an actor in 1982. By the mid-1990s Kathy was a household name. Whether you know her as the beloved Perry, for her award-winning acting, or for being proudly woke and calling out tw*ts on social media, Kathy has always had a mind of her own. Funny and wise, this is her memoir."
Talking to The Bookseller, Burke joked: "I've been asked many times over the years to write my autobiography but always shied away from the idea. However, with the rise of artificial intelligence, I thought I'd best get to it while my own human intelligence is still intact."
Holly Harris from publishers Simon & Schuster, says: "Over the past 40 years, Kathy Burke has become as well known for her trademark humour, candour and kindness as for her brilliant work in film, TV and theatre. Her memoir is wonderful; funny, honest and astute. Readers are in for a treat."
A Mind Of My Own will be published on 23rd October in hardbook, eBook and audiobook formats, with Burke confirmed as the narrator for the audiobook version.
