Abigoliah Schamaun and Joe Wells to write Neurodivergent Moments book
- Neurodivergent Moments, a book from podcast hosts Abigoliah Schamaun and Joe Wells, will be out in 2026
- The book will feature 24 "funny and relatable autobiographical essays with a neurodivergent theme"
Comedians Abigoliah Schamaun and Joe Wells are to write Neurodivergent Moments, a book offering a collection of autobiographical essays.
Schamaun, who has ADHD, and Wells, who is autistic, have been presenting a podcast called Neurodivergent Moments since April 2022. Now in its sixth series, each episode features an interview with another neurodivergent creative. Recent guests have included Suzi Ruffell, Ashley Storrie and Jess Thom.
The hosts have now signed a deal with Jessica Kingsley Publishers to release a paperback in 2026 featuring "a collection of funny and relatable autobiographical essays with a neurodivergent theme".
The publishers explain: "Inspired by their hit podcast of the same name, Neurodivergent Moments refers to the moments in your life which are different, difficult, or more exciting when you have a differently wired brain.
"24 stories in the book include the day it dawned on Abigoliah that she was in special education classes (she just thought she was special!) and the complicated new game Joe designed for his classmates at school (they just wanted to play tag). Lighthearted, sincere, and insightful, Neurodivergent Moments is a journey into the diverse world of differently wired brains and the people who own them."
Schamaun says: "It's always been a dream of mine to write a book. And it's an honour to write it with Joe, as he's already set us a writing schedule so it'll definitely get done."
Wells comments: "I am so excited about writing this book, I've made an excellent writing schedule."
