The creators of BBC sitcom Ghosts are to publish a book titled Ghosts: Brought To Life - The Making Of A Classic.
Described as "ultimate celebratory gift book for all of you in desperate need of another Ghosts fix", the 224 page book will feature interviews with those involved in the show, details of scenes cut from the show, episode guides, character profiles, and more.
The book is due to be published in hardback and eBook formats on 26th October 2024.
Publishers Bloomsbury say; "From understanding how the ghosts walked through walls to discovering how long it took to do Robin's make-up, and from learning who stole what from the set to reliving favourite moments, Ghosts: Brought To Life is a treasure-trove of fascinating insight into the makings of this comedy legend, a series that brought families together and touched people's lives."
The book is being collated by the hit show's six creators: Mat Baynton, Simon Farnaby, Martha Howe-Douglas, Jim Howick, Laurence Rickard and Ben Willbond.
The stars previously worked on the 2023 book Ghosts: The Button House Archives, a companion which saw the characters from the show presenting additional material, such as Julian's campaign promises and Lady Button's Rules of Etiquette. The book was shortlisted for awards included Illustrated Book of the Year.
They say: "Making Ghosts really was an extraordinary amount of fun, and we're so excited to share the joy (and occasional pain) of that process with fans of the show. Revisiting those stories and characters has brought back many brilliant memories of that unique location and superb crew, and we can't wait to take readers on a personal tour of our beloved Button House in all its ghost-filled glory."
Publisher Katy Follain adds: "We are over the moon to be immersing ourselves back in the world of the ghosts of Button House, who we adore. This is such a fun and remarkable book about the inner workings of the series - one that will help fill that Ghosts-shaped hole in fans' lives."
Ghosts: Brought To Life - The Making Of A Classic is available to pre-order now. The launch will be supported by an extensive marketing and publicity campaign, including a number of events with the stars of Ghosts. More details about the events will be announced nearer the time.

Ghosts: The Button House Archives
The comic companion to the BBC sitcom Ghosts, perfect for all the family.
Everybody leaves a trace. The ghosts of Button House may have been dead a long time - some of them a very long time - but they have all left their mark on the world (even if, in Robin's case, that mark is just a handprint on the wall of a cave).
Gathered together in this volume is a treasure trove of unearthed cuttings, original records and rare artefacts that explore the unseen lives of those who died at Button House: from Thomas's love letters to Pat's 'Summer Camp Rap', and from Julian's campaign promises to Lady Button's Rules of Etiquette. There are even documents dictated to the one person who can see and hear the ghosts: Alison Cooper.
Written by the show's creators - Mathew Baynton, Simon Farnaby, Martha Howe-Douglas, Jim Howick, Laurence Rickard and Ben Willbond - this eclectic archive is a unique chance to discover more about the beloved ghosts of Button House. Thank be to Moonah!
A book for all the family, it is as warm-spirited and deliriously daft as the series itself.
