Frankie Boyle has written a new "satire on modern politics", which will be published in October.

Your Guide To Hell: Dispatches From The Political Apocalypse is described as a "biting satire", mixing the comic's popular Guardian newspaper columns with new material.

The book's blurb explains: "Brexit ... Trump ... Syria ... The Chilcot Enquiry ... and now a vicious General Election: it's not been a good year for the world. Luckily Frankie Boyle is here with his own biting brand of satire, to guide us through this political wasteland we all call home."

Hardback, audio download and ebook formats will be published on Thursday 19th October 2017.

Commissioning editor at publishers John Murray, Kate Hewson says "I've always been a fan of Frankie's, but when he started writing for the Guardian a few years ago I was blown away by how incisive, complex and humane his pieces were - as well as very, very funny, of course. We're very excited to be publishing this book, and think he is a brilliant political voice for our times."

The publisher secured the book from Boyle's agent, Chambers Management, after what is described as an "hotly contested auction".

Announcement of the book follows the first episode of Boyle's new BBC Two series Frankie Boyle's New World Order, which began last night and is due to broadcast into July, totalling four episodes.
