Edinburgh-based American stand-up Krystal Evans has written her first book, the memoir Hottest Girl At Burn Camp: How To Survive A Fire And A Chaotic Mother (Without Losing Your Sense Of Humour), recounting the fatal night when she was 14 and the home she shared with her mother and little sister in Washington State burned down, as well as growing up poor, living with a mentally ill mother, and having a wolf for a pet.

Alan Davies is writing a memoir about the darker side of stand-up, with the currently untitled book promising to explore the underside of UK's exploding comedy scene in the 1980s and 1990s, showcasing "many brilliant comedians who are unknown today and many others who have become incredibly famous, whether they are named or not!"
