The Wackers - The Complete Series

The Wackers - The Complete Series

A forerunner to Carla Lane's Bread, this provocative mid-seventies sitcom pulls no punches in its depiction of a working-class Liverpudlian family who share everything... except faith and football teams!

The Wackers (Scouse for 'mates') stars Ken Jones - best known as Porridge's 'Orrible' Ives - Alison Steadman, Sheila Fay, a teenage Keith Chegwin and future Brookside legend Bill Dean, and is written by veteran screenwriter and Love Thy Neighbour creator Vince Powell. The series became quite controversial in its day and the final episode was never transmitted. All seven episodes are included on this set, complete and uncut.

Newly released from a two-year prison term, Billy Clarkson rejoins his family - wife Mary, daughter Bernadette, sons Tony and Raymond, and grandparents Joe and Maggie - in the inner-city area of Dingle. But Billy's got his work cut out: re-adjusting to the demands of domestic life is so much more difficult when half the family is Protestant, the other half Catholic, and there's a constant threat of verbal argy-bargy erupting between the true-blue Evertonians and the Liverpool Reds...

Fear not! Many items can still be ordered. Amazon in the UK delivers to many international territories, whilst their Australia, USA and Canada stores also supply many equivalent or imported items.

If you are in the North America, look out for US/Canadian flag icons on popular product listings for direct links.

If you order from a UK store, please note that the UK is in Region 2 and B, respectively, for DVDs and Blu-rays - check your player's compatibility, or look for multi-region products if you are located in another region.

If you are in Australia or New Zealand (DVD Region 4), note that almost all DVDs distributed in the UK by the BBC and 2entertain are encoded for both Region 2 and Region 4. The UK and Australasia are in the same Blu-ray region (B).
