A new alternative comedy magazine titled CHAFF has launched.

The brainchild of comedian Will BF and comedy producer Amber Ash, CHAFF is billed as "an ode to making something just because it makes you laugh", with the magazine having the ethos of "taking funny things and put them in print - no nonsense, no self promotion - alright: some nonsense."

CHAFF magazine: Edition 1

Contributors to the 36 page first edition include Rosalie Minnitt, Alex Franklin, Aidan Pittman, Rosie Nicholls, Angela Channell, Broccan Tyzack-Carlin, Andy Bucks, Noah Geelan, Emmeline Downie, Tristan Robinson, The Boys From Fudge and Gregory Miller.

The blurb explains: "From Anton Du Beke's 'enemy of the week' to a recipe page from a homicidal granny; business advice from Mike 'The Money' Slice to the world's first Cross-word-Search-udoku - you never know what CHAFF's next page will hold."

Will BF comments: "There didn't seem to be any spaces for creating surreal, spontaneous, and - most of all - creative written comedy with a little heart and just for the sake of it! I craved a space where I could write something with a bit more joy than 'Will BF's Guide to a Perfect Fringe', sandwiched between ad-crammed pages. I hope the freedom of format and content is something that contributors and readers alike will find refreshing. With only one edition down - I hope CHAFF will continue to grow, spread and mutate - like a lovely virus."

CHAFF: Alternative Comedy Mag

CHAFF can be purchased for £5 on Etsy and followed on Instagram.

The first edition has been funded by Croydon Council, but subsequent editions will be self-funded. The creators are hoping to publish the magazine quarterly.
