Craig Campbell releases stand-up show on iTunes

Craig Campbell Live. Craig Campbell

Craig Campbell is one of our favourite stand-up comedians - he's a bag of energy on stage and always keeps the room chuckling.

If you're wondering where you've seen him before, aside from his own shows he's previously supported Frankie Boyle on tour, and appeared on TV programmes including Michael McIntyre's Comedy Roadshow and Dave's One Night Stand.

At the time of writing, he's touring the country with Stewart Francis and Glenn Wool. The trio's fantastic stand-up show, The Lumberjacks, is well worth a ticket (it was one of our favourite shows at the Edinburgh Fringe last year).

However, the reason we're writing about Craig Campbell now is that the DVD companies are all keeping a close eye on his latest move. Why? Well, he's releasing Craig Campbell Live, his professionally recorded stand-up show, on iTunes. Only iTunes. He's going totally digital. The industry will be looking out for sales figures with quite some interest... are digital downloads the future?

The Canadian comic, who now lives in Devon, has had a big success with this show on the circuit. It was extended twice due to popular demand, and notched up over 120 dates nationwide in total. Campbell is a genuine action man (kayaking and snowboarding are listed under the 'hobbies' section of his CV), and Craig Campbell Live features funny tales of his globe-trotting adventures and action.

Craig has kindly created the following introduction video for us, which features a clip from the section of the show where he jokes about getting really drunk at an airport... in the morning.

Craig Campbell Live is released on iTunes on Monday 13th May 2013. To order visit iTunes
