Fliss is envious of her old school friend Jill Fraser, now fiction editor for a firm of publishers in London. Fliss tries hard to stifle a note of envy, but when Jill turns up, expensively dressed, looking every inch a successful career woman, Fliss begins to realise how different Jill's lifestyle is from her own.
