Pongo and Mushy decide to learn a trade for when they get out of jail. But they don't want to learn just any old trade, They want jobs where they can make lots of money. Pongo and Mushy ask Prison Officer Mills for permission to learn a lucrative trade. Pongo takes up ladies' hairdressing and practises his art on the other prisoners. Mushy feels he is more suited to dress designing. To encourage Mushy and Pongo to better themselves, Mills brings combs, shampoos and overalls for Pongo and gingham, needles and French chalk for Mushy. But he causs chaos in the prison when he brings Mushy an naked female dummy.
