Comedy writer and satirist Steve Punt tells BBC Radio Solent the story of Tony Hancock.
Birmingham-born, Hancock moved with his family to Bournemouth at a young age, where his father worked as a comedian and owned the Railway Hotel.
He would go on to become the biggest name in British comedy, entertaining millions first in Educating Archie and then in his own genre-defining sitcom, Hancock's Half Hour, on both radio and television.
