David Mitchell is joined by Miles Jupp, Marcus Brigstocke, Holly Walsh and Lou Sanders, who are obliged to talk with deliberate inaccuracy on subjects as varied as fungi, the Beckhams, cushions and puddings.

The Truths

Miles Jupp - Fungi

- Women are better at finding fungi than men, according to a 2010 study from Mexico. Found by Lou.

- King Charles III learned he had become monarch whilst he was gathering mushrooms near Balmoral. Found by Lou.

- Kiwi birds smell of mushrooms. Found by Holly.

- The mushrooms in Super Mario, which appear to make you grow bigger, are real. The design of the mushrooms in the games is based on amanita muscaria mushrooms, which are known for their psychoactive affects when consumed including distorting scale, in what is known as "Alice in Wonderland Syndrome". Successfully smuggled.

- Kim Jong Un once sent two tonnes of mushrooms to the President of South Korea as a gift. Successfully smuggled.

Holly Walsh - The Beckhams

- Harper Beckham was named after To Kill a Mockingbird author Harper Lee. Found by Marcus.

- As a child, Brooklyn Beckham's bedroom had murals of Cinderella and Prince Charming on the walls, but with the faces of Victoria and David instead. Found by Marcus.

- "David and Victoria Beckham" is an anagram of "Bravo victim and a dickhead". Successfully smuggled.

- Brooklyn claimed to have invented the double-barrelled surname. In 2023, he was widely mocked online after announcing he and his new wife Nicola Peltz had "invented a new thing" by combining their surnames to "Peltz Beckham". Successfully smuggled.

- Victoria once said of David that his: "willy is huge, like a tractor exhaust pipe". Successfully smuggled.

Lou Sanders - Cushions

- German authorities have classified pillows as passive weapons. It is illegal to take one to a demonstration. Found by Holly.

- One woman in China survived a six-storey fall when she landed on a cushion of human poo, which had just been emptied from the building's sceptic tank by workmen. Found by Holly.

- The Mundari tribe of South Sudan use dried cowpats as pillows. Found by Marcus.

- In the USA, 29th May is Put a Pillow on Your Fridge Day. It relates to a superstition that does this act gives you good luck. Successfully smuggled.

- Early whoopee cushions were called "poo-poo cushions". Successfully smuggled.

Marcus Brigstocke - Puddings

- High etiquette says you should only eat jelly with a fork. Found by Holly.

- Students at S. Anselm's Preparatory School in Bakewell, Derbyshire sent a piece of bakewell tart into space. Tracking devices lost contact after around 53,000ft, having travel about 20 miles into space. It was later found 80 miles away in an asparagus field in Lincolnshire. Found by Holly.

- In Italy, there is a pudding called "Capezzoli di Venere", meaning "Nipples of Venus". Each one resembles a human breast in size and shape, and it is made using chocolate, pureed chesnuts and brandy, topped with a white chocolate nipple. Found by Holly.

- The founder of the Daily Mail became terrified of ice cream, for fear that Germans would somehow lace it with poison. Lord Northcliffe went insane in the last years of his life due to a streptococcal infection, and was notorious for his prejudices, with Jews and Scots among his regular targets. He also banned photos of women in trousers in his papers on the grounds that: "masculine tendencies in women are interfering with the birth rate." Successfully smuggled.

- The Bedfordshire clanger is a dish which is both savoury and sweet. Successfully smuggled.
