Further details
Dr Henry Pickerskill has his hands full trying to help arrogant know-it-all student Oliver Hugh Porter: his endless questioning of masters makes him the target of both staff and fellow students.
Desperate to be liked, Oliver Hugh misinterprets Henry's advice about making friends and buys out the school with his trust fund. He's assisted by Cyril Hornette, an accountant with a maniacal streak and a deadly desire to indulge his ghastly daughter, Faye.
Oliver Hugh subsequently marries Faye, who has come under the influence of a cult, The Constancy. Henry tries to convince Oliver Hugh that The Constancy preaches dangerous nonsense and will damage the school's reputation.
With love triangles, secret recordings and an unwelcome appearance in the red tops, it's a teetering farcical catastrophic finish to wrap up the 8 year project.
