The Mighty Jungle is a sitcom set in the fictional Scottish safari park of Aber Clyde. The story focuses on the trials and tribulations of the park manager Joss McGregor and his ongoing attempts to keep the park open in the wake of economic downturn.
When the parks eccentric elderly owner Sir Clive Bunyan turns up one day, Joss is horrified to learn that he intends to move back into the manor house that overlooks the reservation. Despite Joss's pleas for him to re-consider Sir Clive is adamant and now Joss must indulge his billionaire employer's insane whims while at the same time maintain order within the park. Attached to Joss in his constant battles are his loyal assistant Jacqueline and the head game keeper Diesel.
The Mighty Jungle is set in a humorously surreal world in which Joss is the only sane and apparently normal character in the entire park. Surrounded by oddballs and obsessive animal lovers the comedy situations arise from Joss's attempts to maintain order, prevent visitors from coming to harm, keeping the animals in good health and avoiding the sack.
