Further details
Alan gets a television role as The Gay Miner, but ends up having no work afterwards, apart from adverts. Murray suggests that in order to make money, Alan should what he does and enter lots of competitions.
However, Alan learns from his agent Richard that there has been a mix-up in his advert. Alan has to prance about as a strawberry. Because he is chatting up a woman, he pretends he is playing in a major role and ends up doing the role.
Alan discovers from Kate and Murray that his role as Mr Strawberry has made him famous. Murray also becomes obsessed with a holiday competition given by cod-portions. Murray decides to tear of some coupons rather than buy the boxes. However, he ends up being arrested for vandalism.
Kate tries to get around the competition problems by getting her pupils involved. Meanwhile, Murray phones the cod-portion company to get the exact details of the competition.
Alan discovers his advert is even worse than he feared. When he invites his girlfriend over, he tries to prevent her from seeing the advert. Alan then learns that the Mr Strawberry marketing campaign is the biggest ever in the country. Eventually, the girlfriend finds out and she leaves him because of advert.
After being dumped, Richard tells Alan that the marketing campaign is going global, and he cannot escape from it. Murray and Kate do win their competition and a holiday to Iceland, but there is a downside - they have to dress up as cod-portions for a publicity campaign.
