For instance, there are two spoof histories of rock music being broadcast at the moment: The History of Rock on Radio 2 and The Uncyclopaedia of Rock on London's Capital. [...] The Radio 2 series has some witty and recognisable pastiche of the music (country music, blues and Elvis, so far) and a sly commentary; Capital has more snap-crackle-pop buffoonery, and snatches of the golden oldies.
Val Arnold-Forster, The Guardian, 10th August 1984Part of the team which brings "Radio Active" to the BBC is behind Capital Radio's The Uncyclopaedia of Rock, a six-week series sending up rock history's more sententious moments. The touch here is heavier, the jokes more laboured. The determination to be funny deflates it entirely.
