On Radio Scotland, the irrepressible Una MacLean steps naturally into the octogenarian shoes of Sybil Law in a four-part series about the eponymous character's unpredictable exploits and relationships with her friends and neighbours.
The programmes are written by Charlie Dore, who created Sybil for a sketch show that ran in London's King's Road for three weeks in 2002, and describes her as "an amalgam of several of my aunts, great aunts, grandmothers and various doughty contemporaries of my mother ... feisty old ladies who had lived through at least one war and for the most part were not going to take old age lying down".
