Love And Sweets is a story about love (and sweets, which are more reliable). Richard Marsh's show is a funny and moving account of losing love and learning to put yourself back together again.
Richard tells four fifteen minute tales about the giddy excitement of young love, cars covered in sweets, broken dreams, trans-American honeymoon road trips and a seductive-looking lady called Sorrow.
Richard is a storyteller, slipping from rhyme to prose and back again in a fast-paced, accessible way. Think David Sedaris crossed with Jay-Z. But from Somerset.
This radio series is adapted from Richard's stand-up/theatre show at the Edinburgh Fringe 2011.
Richard is a poet and playwright (one of the inaugural 503/5 writers-in-residence at Olivier Award-winning Theatre503). In 2012 he was named London poetry slam champion and one of Time Out's Culture Hot 100, and won a Fringe First for Dirty Great Love Story.
