Angela Barnes to host new R4 flagship stand-up show Live From The UK

- Live From The UK is coming to Radio 4, showcasing some of the country's best stand-ups at regional comedy clubs
- Josh Pugh, Lauren Pattison, Mark Nelson, Hayley Ellis and Louise Young are among those recording sets
- Hosted by Angela Barnes, the show is billed as the station's "flagship stand-up series"
Radio 4 is launching a new stand-up showcase, featuring some of the UK's best comics performing at their local comedy clubs.
Hosted by Angela Barnes, Live From The UK is described as the station's new "flagship stand-up series", with recording of four 30-minute episodes commencing next week.
The first episode, which airs on 21st May, features Josh Pugh headlining from The Glee Club in Birmingham, with Hayley Ellis performing at the Frog & Bucket in Manchester, Mark Nelson at the Stand in Glasgow and Louise Young at the Stand in Newcastle.
Lauren Pattison is also scheduled to record at the Newcastle Stand in a later episode.

Initial recordings will take place at Birmingham Glee this coming Monday and at the Frog & Bucket on Tuesday night.
Further sets will be recorded at the Stand venues in Glasgow on 21st April and Newcastle on the 22nd.

Radio 4 regular Barnes is currently touring her own stand-up show, Angst, which she brings to Cranleigh Arts in Cranleigh tonight.
