Lindsey Santoro has landed her debut Radio 4 series, sharing extracts from her diary, British Comedy Guide can exclusively reveal.
The Birmingham comic is recording The Lively Life Of Lindsey Santoro in her home city in December, to air next year.
The premise of the four 15-minute episodes is that she still keeps a journal, "but she's not 13 years old daydreaming about her latest crush and sleepover plans."
Rather, she's "a 37-year-old working class, no-nonsense Brummie, whose days are more likely to involve thrush cream and a bargy with a bus driver."
Promising to be "loud, real, relatable and most importantly, infectiously funny", Santoro - who won Next Up's Biggest Award in Comedy at the 2023 Edinburgh Fringe for her debut show Pink Tinge, the title a nod to her distinctive hair colour - will share an excerpt from her journal in each episode.
"Her life can get messy, her observations are frank but her self-awareness and direct approach will have you roaring with laughter" say the production team for BBC Studios Audio (You're Part Of The Problem), led by producer Sasha Bobak (The Now Show, Jazz Emu: The Sound Of Us).
Santoro has also just filmed a set for the upcoming 19th series of Live At The Apollo.
Recording at the Glee club in Birmingham on 4th December, free tickets for The Lively Life Of Lindsey Santoro are available via SRO Audiences
