Chloe Petts has landed her debut Radio 4 series - about the history of the loo.

In Chloe Petts' Toilet Humour, the stand-up will explore how we relate to one another whilst we're on the porcelain throne.

"Starting in the latrines of Ancient Rome, passing through to whatever George Michael was getting up to in the 1990s" the five-part series finds the comic looking "backwards to try and make sense of how we've got to where we are now; a culture war being fought in a place where she once did a sh*t so big they had to retire the toilet".

Petts, who describes her gender as non-conforming, has talked about occasionally being mistaken for a man, and in her 2022 Edinburgh Fringe debut show, Transience, of her experience of being challenged as to why she was in a ladies toilet.

Chloe Petts' Toilet Humour is produced by her management company Avalon (Taskmaster, Starstruck) and is recording at the Up The Creek Comedy Club in London on 5th March, with tickets available via sroaudiences.com

Coincidentally, that is the same day that Hannah Gadsby's Gender Agenda launches on Netflix, with Petts among the line-up of "genderqueer" comics featured on the stand-up showcase, which was shot at the Alexandra Palace Theatre in London.

Petts is currently touring her show If You Can't Say Anything Nice, continuing at The Crescent in York tomorrow night.
