Aurie Styla lands Radio 4 stand-up technology series Tech Talk
- In Tech Talk, Aurie Styla will explore the cultural history of technology through his personal relationship with it
- Recording next month in London, the four-part series is the second Radio 4 show that the stand-up has had announced this week
- "Whilst I'm a sucker for nostalgia, the fun in this series is going to be in seeing where technology started in our lives, and where it will be going. Let's call it, the Tech-Volution" Styla said
Aurie Styla is to present a Radio 4 comedy series about technology.
In Tech Talk, the comic and gadget enthusiast will explore the way technology has shaped and changed our lives, through the prism of his own relationship with it.
Predicting the future of tech too, the four 15-minute episodes are described as part stand-up, part cultural history.
"I love technology, almost as much as I love making people laugh" Styla told British Comedy Guide. "From video games to computing, home systems to self-driving cars. And whilst I'm a sucker for nostalgia, the fun in this series is going to be in seeing where technology started in our lives, and where it will be going. Let's call it, the Tech-Volution."
Produced by comedian Mark Watson and Lianne Coop for their Impatient Productions (Jen Brister: Waves, Josie Long: What Next?), the series will trace personal Styla's tech-journey, from customising his television to watch different channels, to fitting voice-recognition lights in his house.
Recording at the Backyard Comedy Club in London on 12th February, free tickets are available via Lost In TV
Earlier this week, Styla was revealed as part of the cast for a Radio 4 sketch show pilot, You're Part of The Problem, in amongst a raft of comedy programming announced by the channel.
His stand-up tour, The Aurator, begins at the Komedia in Brighton on 1st February.
