The Skewer has won two awards at the ARIAS 2023, the Radio Academy's awards.
The Radio 4 format picked up the Gold prize in the Comedy Award category at tonight's ceremony, and also a Silver award in the special one-off category 'The 2022 Special Award, following the death of HM The Queen'.
Devised by Jon Holmes, the show - which is due to return for a ninth series on 17th May - mixes up audio footage to satirise the news. The format has an 'open door' policy for material and thus has been giving a number of up-and-coming writers their first broadcast credits.
Reacting on Twitter to the win, Holmes paid tribute to the contributors and producers.
