Jamie MacDonald gets second series of Radio 4 show Life On The Blink
- Stand-up show Jamie MacDonald: Life On The Blink will return to Radio 4 for a second series
- "Phew! The second series being commissioned means the first one couldn't have been a fluke!"
- Producer Julia Sutherland says: "We can't wait to get cracking with the second series"
Jamie MacDonald has been commissioned to write a second series of his Radio 4 stand-up show, Life On The Blink.
The recommission comes after the success of the first series, broadcast in May 2021, in which the comedian spoke about his experience of losing his sight as a teenager and how he has finally embraced his blindness and the, sometimes hilarious, effects it has had on his life.
Talking about the new episodes, the producers say: "In his typically forthright and honest style Jamie will continue to talk about his experience of losing his sight and the ways in which it has impacted on his life and the lives of those around him. His comedic take on being blind offers an inspiring perspective on life and the things that many of us take for granted. The second series will also be recorded in front of a live audience. Jamie's attitude towards his disability might have improved - but his eyesight certainly hasn't!"
MacDonald comments: "Phew! The second series being commissioned means the first one couldn't have been a fluke!"
Julia Sutherland, who is producing for Dabster Productions, comments: "Jamie is one of the most consistently funny comedians we work with - a great writer, a natural performer - and just extremely fun to be around! Making the first series with him was an absolute pleasure. We can't wait to get cracking with the second series, which already promises to be more packed with hilarious lines and unique observations than the last!"
