Radio 4 orders panel show hosted by Gyles Brandreth
Radio 4 has ordered a new panel show based around wordplay.
Wordaholics will be hosted by Gyles Brandreth, the comedy writer, entertainer and one-time MP who has made frequent appearances in Countdown's Dictionary Corner, and is a regular on Just A Minute.
The commission follows a non-broadcast pilot, which was recorded at the Geological Society in November 2010 with Milton Jones, Jack Whitehall and Natalie Haynes.
Radio 4 describes Wordaholics as follows: "Gyles Brandreth is joined by four fellow wordaholics for the panel game that tests your linguistic knowledge and makes you laugh your socks off at the same time."
Guests set to take part in the full series include Haynes, plus stand-up comedians Jenny Eclair, Richard Herring and Alex Horne.
Wordaholics will be broadcast on Radio 4 in early 2012.
