Lee Mack will co-host the next series of Radio 4's The Museum Of Curiosity.

The Not Going Out star will join host John Lloyd to act as the 'curator' in Series 13 of the long-running comedy show.

The Museum Of Curiosity, described as "a comedy show that defies category", invites "the world's most interesting people to donate an item to fill its infinite number of virtual plinths". The format has won multiple awards since it launched in 2007, including a prestigious international Rose d'Or award in 2016.

The new series will begin recording at the BBC Radio Theatre and The Tabernacle venues in London in May and June (Tickets) and will air for 6 weeks from Monday 1st October on BBC Radio 4.

Lee Mack says: "I am very excited about curating The Museum Of Curiosity, and in particular the opportunity to work with the great John Hardress Wilfred Lloyd CBE. I will be constantly referring to him by this name, and hopefully he will be as equally respectful and address me by my full title of 'Lee Mack (BA Hons)'. Although it was a degree in Film and Television, which is one step below Media Studies."

John Lloyd comments: "Lee Mack is one of my all-time favourite comics - and one of the smartest, quickest-witted people it has ever been my privilege to work with."

Producers Richard Turner and Anne Miller add: "We're as flattered as we are delighted to have such an enormously talented, curious and hilarious comedian as Lee Mack joining us for our next series and can't wait to get started."

'Fake News Just In'

John Lloyd jokingly adds: "I want to deny in the strongest possible terms that the reason Lee Mack was appointed as the new curator of The Museum Of Curiosity is because we couldn't get Dustin Mack, curator of the History Museum in Appleton, Wisconsin; Gary Mack, former curator of the The Sixth Floor Museum in Dallas, Texas; Angela Mack, curator of the Gibbes Museum of Art in Charleston, South Carolina; Brian Mack, curator of the Fort Morgan Museum in Fort Morgan, Colorado; Mack McFarland, curator of the Feldman Gallery and Project Space in Portland, Oregon; Olga Mack, curator of Dublin's first TedX event; or Don Schumacher, curator of the Mack Trucks Historical Museum in Allentown, Pennsylvania. We chose Lee because his middle name is Gordon and we couldn't get Leah Gordon, curator of the Haitian Pavilion at the 54th Venice Biennale."
