Radio 2 to broadcast a World Cup panel show
Radio 2 is making a new football-based panel show, which will be broadcast on the station during the forthcoming World Cup.
Never Write Off The Germans will begin on Saturday 12th June and will be broadcast over the five weeks of the tournament, with tickets for recordings being made available later this week.
Christian O'Connell (pictured) is set to host the show, with stand-up comedian and radio presenter Jon Richardson as one of the show regulars, and Andy Parsons as the other regular. Each week the duo with face two new guests.
Little is currently known of what rounds the show will contain, but we do know that the programme is looking for contributors to submit material. According to the show's official Twitter account there will be "information coming next week [on] how you can contribute, and even earn money (small I'm afraid) as an official spotter for the show."
Christian O'Connell has previously hosted Five Live panel show Fighting Talk, and also The Christian O'Connell Solution, which was his own show for the sports & news station. Andy Parsons is probably best known as one of the stars of Mock the Week, whilst Jon Richardson is currently one of the fastest-rising stand-up stars. Since appearing on Michael McIntyre's Comedy Roadshow, Richardson has appeared on a number of high profile panel shows, including last Friday's Have I Got News For You election special. He is also due to star as the new 'curator' (show regular) on The Museum of Curiosity, as the Radio 4 panel show returns for a new series this Monday.
