John Finnemore leads BBC Audio Awards 2016 nominations
The nominees for the BBC Audio Drama Awards 2016 has been announced.
Although featuring the word drama in the title, the awards also feature two comedy categories. Below is a list of the comedy episodes nominated.
Notably John Finnemore's name appears three times across the two categories. Cabin Pressure, his hit airline-based sitcom that ended last December, appears in the list for best scripted comedy.
Finnemore has also been recognised for his hit sketch show, John Finnemore's Souvenir Programme, and his new show: John Finnemore's Double Acts. This is not the first year Finnemore has been nominated, havnig won in the 2015 awards with John Finnemore's Souvenir Programme (pictured).
This year's shortlist will be judged by a team of industry experts including Ruth Jones, with the finalists announced on the 5th January 2016. The winners will be announced at a ceremony in the Radio Theatre at BBC Broadcasting House, London, on Sunday 31st January.

Other comedy-related nominations in the full list include Roger Allam appearing in the Best Actor in an Audio Drama category for his work on Cabin Pressure; Sue Johnston nominated for Best Actress in an Audio Drama for her role in Love In Recovery; and Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman's comic drama Good Omens in the running for Best Audio Drama.
