Liam Mullone to present Radio 4 pilot of disappointment
Stand-up comedian Liam Mullone will host his own Radio 4 pilot next month.
To be recorded on 24th November, Liam Mullone's Disappointing World will see the comic address disappointment and celebrate the losers of history.
Producers at Channel X North say: "The pilot episode will look at disappointing technology from history to the present day including the underperforming Swedish warship that sank upon launch, the dispiriting super-plane that flew for one mile and the wholly unsatisfactory space station where the astronauts went on strike."
Described as "British comedy's only contrarian libertarian antiquarian", Mullone's stand-up will be interspersed with short comic sketches and a song featuring guests Alexis Dubus (and his French alter-ego Marcel Lucont) and Eri Jackson.
Liam says: "Having made human disappointment my life's work, it was an enormous setback to be offered a Radio 4 pilot. But then, that's just the sort of thing that happens."
