Sarah Millican will act as the guest 'curator' on the next series of The Museum Of Curiosity. The long-running Radio 4 format is described as "a comedy panel show like no other". It aims to "bring together the most interesting people in the universe" and asks them to submit one item of interest each to fill the Museum's empty plinths.

The stand-up comedian will join host John Lloyd on the 8th series of the show, which is due to be recorded soon. As with previous curators, she will help oversee which interesting concepts and artifacts are 'donated' to the show's fictional museum.

The Museum Of Curiosity has been running on Radio 4 since 2008. Millican will be the first female curator on the show. She follows in the footsteps of Bill Bailey, Sean Lock, Jon Richardson, Dave Gorman, Jimmy Carr, Humphrey Ker and Phill Jupitus.

Producers Richard Turner and James Harkin say: "We are hugging ourselves with glee at the news that the latest co-host to join John Lloyd for our new series is the delightful, lovely and brilliantly funny... Sarah Millican!"

The series is due to be recorded at the BBC Radio Theatre in London this May to July (apply for tickets), with a special episode also recorded at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in August. The Edinburgh special will be broadcast in September, with the full six episode series starting on 11th January 2016 in the 6:30pm slot.
