Jason Hazeley, who working alongisde Joel Morris has written the Ladybird book for adults, Cunk on Britain, Agendum, and who also works as a musican, provides a lot of money in the form of Ravel's royalties, because his £17million in royalties don't go a single members of his family, but instead went until recently to a Swiss woman whose mother used to be married to the man who used to be married to a former canary seller who was Ravel's brother's masseurs.
Ed Brooke-Hitching, who made a documentary film about the world's worst orchestra, has written several books about the history of maps, and a QI Elf, offers up a land grant for 60 acres of South American land called Poyais in 1822. The problem is that Poyais doesn't exist and this entire land grant was created by a Scottish soldier named Gregor MacGregor who conned people out of a billion pounds in today's money.
