Owen (Greg Hemphill) is a TV addict and overweight. Since he's reached the age of forty, Allison (Brigit Forsyth) thinks it's about time he did something about it...

Allison says his landlord father was just the same. He was addicted to what was behind the bar. Booze? No, crisps. He ate a bag on the hour every hour. Owen was conceived in a heady aroma of prawn cocktail and smoky bacon. Died of a heart attack in the end of course.

Drawing on her days as a fitness fanatic, Allison draws up a fitness regime and puts a reluctant Owen through his paces. When the diet kicks in, Owen can't take it anymore and is caught riffling through the bins, picking out all the junk food Allison has thrown out.

Frustrated at his bone-idleness, she hatches a plan. But a greedy man is a cunning man, and it's not long until Owen devices a plan of his own, with a little help from his friend.
