42 Day is Here!
There was a power in the world. A wild and untamed power which held all the answers and yet none of them at all. One number, it was said could save us and redeem us. One number would pull back the curtains to reveal the light of truth, beauty and wisdom. Identifying the number was not a problem. Nor did anyone doubt its power. The difficulty lay in the application of the number.

Benedicte Page, The Bookseller, 14th August 2009My favourite. Not just a wonderful idea, not just very funny, not just the only known portrayal of a hero travelling the galaxy in a dressing gown, but a show that made real use of the radio medium. And, yes, I realise I have already contradicted myself, but the amusing noises of The Hitchhiker's Guide were somehow more convincing than the amusing noises of the Goons. Perhaps it's a generation thing.
