Geoff Norcott joins Times Radio on Friday nights
Geoff Norcott has joined Times Radio, presenting a show on Friday nights.
The comic has previously guest hosted on the channel and is taking over the 7pm-10pm slot that evening, joking on social media that "every station needs diversity and I'm representing 'blokes who look and sound like plumbers'".

"I can't wait to take over Friday evenings" he added. "Times Radio does a great job of keeping people informed and entertained, so given it's the start of the weekend my show will tend towards the latter. We'll still keep people across the big stories, but there will also be a lot of chat about music, TV, film and sport. Given that I grew up on a council estate, some people are calling this a diversity hire, but I'd like to think I'm here on merit."
Norcott's stand-up special, Basic Bloke, also comes to ITVX today, thanks to the broadcaster's tie-in with comedy streamer NextUp. Other specials added today include Rachel Parris's Poise, Marcus Brigstocke's Absolute Shower, Jo Caulfield's Here Comes Trouble and Alasdair Beckett-King's Nevermore.
Norcott begins a run of stand-up work-in-progress dates at G Live in Guildford on 6th March.
