The Hauntening Series 4 guest stars revealed
The Hauntening, the Radio 4 comedy series written by and starring Tom Neenan, returns for a fourth series on Wednesday 5th October at 11pm.
Th producers have revealed that Martin Jarvis, Joanna Lumley, Peter Davison and Geoffrey Whitehead will be amongst the guest stars in the new four-part series.
The Hauntening is focused around the idea that modern technology is terrifying. The blurb says: "The average smartphone carries out three-point-three-six billion instructions per second. The average person can only carry out one instruction in that time. Stop and think about that for a second. Sorry, that's two instructions; you won't be able to do that. But what if modern technology was... literally terrifying? What if there really was a ghost in the machine?"
Talking about the new series, producers Pozzitive Productions say: "Each episode of the anthology series tackles a new area of technology - and its terrifying potential. Previous episodes have featured dating apps, driverless cars and demonic fridges - while this series will include NFTs, celebrity video messages, and definitely-not-based-on-Wordle daily word apps."
Tom Neenan says: "Imagine a terrifying world where your phone listens to you, your doorbell watches you and your car can randomly burst into flames at any moment. That's our world. The Hauntening is scarier, but only slightly."
Producer and director David Tyler adds: "Thanks to Tom Neenan, being with the cast in the studio recording the show is brilliant fun and being alone at night editing the show is completely terrifying".
Ahead of the new episodes, Radio 4 is currently repeating Series 3. Catch-up on BBC Sounds
