Flying The Flag

It's sad that cost, and an understandable dislike of feeding off a successful TV series, has deprived us of Yes, Prime Minister on radio. But Flying The Flag (Radio 4, Thurs) makes a stab at filling the gap. It's a far broader farce, without the sharp wit of the battles between Hacker and Sir Humphrey. But Dinsdale Landen, as HM Ambassador in a middle-European Iron Curtain country, and his colleagues, Peter Acre as the Bernard figure and Moir Leslie, hoarding her paper-clips, are believable caricatures. I tittered at least twice. And that's praise indeed.
