Further details
Clare and Brian have had a long argument - in fact, such a long argument that they end up forgetting what it was they were initially arguing about. Clare still says Brian started it and Brian, annoyed, walks out on her. He asks Simon if he can stay at his for a while.
At work, Ray is upset and wants Irene to look after him as he is still crying about losing Carlos, his holiday heartbreak. Ray has something important he wants to ask Irene, and she thinks that he is going to ask her to be his best gay friend. However, he asks if she will go with him one evening to a séance, in memory of the first anniversary of his mother's death.
Megan arrives at Clare and Brian's flat and accuses Clare of being in denial, telling her to see her therapist. Clare explains that, every year, Brian has a 'man strop' and soon comes back home. She knows that he will have to come back because of all his medication in the bathroom cabinet and he will not be able to last long in the outside world without his haemorrhoid suppositories.
At the séance, Irene looks for microphones and traps in an attempt to prove it all a trick and a scam. Instead of contacting Ray's mother, the clairvoyant finds Irene's grandmother. Irene begins speaking in French to her and the clairvoyant replies in French. Irene then points out that her grandmother never spoke a word of French. She starts an argument with the medium, until they notice a figure in the room that wasn't there at the start. They leave scared, with the clairvoyant running faster than anyone else!
Clare and Megan decide to go to Simon's flat to talk to Brian. When they get there, Brian tells them to come back in ninety minutes so they can talk. Megan tells Clare that this means he is watching the football, but Clare forces him to talk immediately.
Clare sees two lots of pizzas and garlic breads and realises that Brian has broken his diet. Brian says that he might have been entertaining a woman, but Clare laughs, not thinking he could manage it. Brian is annoyed at being told he is incapable of entertaining women.
A day or two later Clare and Brian are back together and Clare shows Megan a Welsh Love Spoon which Brian was busy making while he was away. Clare is touched that he went to the trouble to make it. Clare and Brian both agree to get some couple counselling... until Brian will admit it was his fault. The couple start another argument during the counselling, with Clare telling Brian that he doesn't care how she feels.
