Further details
The episode begins at the end of a dinner party, which Patrick has hosted despite the fact that Helen couldn't be home in time. He's mortified that Moira wants water and ice in his vintage Port! Joe and Maria were only able to come out if Charlie babysat for them and gave them updates every fifteen minutes. Billy takes Moira home since she's had far too much to drink!
When Helen comes home, Patrick is a bit jealous because she spent the evening with Robin (again), so she retaliates by telling Patrick that Moira fancies him and she copes. When he sees how dressed up Helen is in the morning, Patrick is really concerned that shes staying away and Robin will be there. Helen is quick to tell Patrick (or as she calls him "Neanderthal Cave Boy") that he should be flattered and she was grown up enough to stand her ground.
Joe and Maria are having some problems with their relationship now Josephine is around. Joe seeks Moira's advice about this, but she is far too hungover to offer any real advice. After Billy and Moira spent the night together, Billy hopes to impress Moira by cooking her a meal. Whilst he is learning to cook with Patrick, Joe is patronising Moira by telling her how to open the till!
Patrick is struggling to teach Billy because he has no feel; he likes chunky meat ("you make it sound like dog food") and thin sliced mushrooms ("it's puree!")
Patrick ends up cooking the meal for Billy and Moira and then babysits Josephine to give everyone a chance to catch up and sort their problems out. Helen comes home early from her work do and finally stops punishing Patrick by telling him that Robin is married!
